These Few Books Can Produce 90% of Your Results In Life. Mastery Newsletter August 2, 2017

Out of the 200+ books I admit to reading, these are the 10%. (It only works out to 4 books per year over 50 years of reading. A bit disappointing really. Considering Elon Musk supposedly reads 2 books a day. I will not be an Elon Musk…sigh.)

My thinking is…there are lots of resources out there. 20% will be fantastic and produce 80% of my results. 20% are not worth looking at. And 60% are good, but will not produce the same results that the top 20% will.

This is my short list for you. Categorized into five different areas of study.

Yogananda, Paramahansa. Autobiography of a Yogi. This is a classic. It can cause a total re-evaluation of how life really works.

Personal Development

Anttila, Matti. The Zen of Joy. How to Rewire Your Brain for Happiness and Success. (Obviously) Unique in that this course takes only minutes a day to achieving/allowing joy to permeate the body, mind, spirit and emotions. “I’m a big believer that if you find happiness, then success will follow. Happiness encourages good life decisions, bolsters wonderful relationships, and opens up doors to great opportunities.” -Sir Richard Branson

Anttila, Matti. 108 Tips for More Joy, Energy and Health. This 108-week email course focuses on small, week-by-week improvements. If you average only 1% improvement a week, in two years you will have more than a 100% enhancement to your life. Comes with a 10-minute “Laugh Along With Matti” video.

Allen, David. Getting Things Done.  One needs to be organized. Without organization in our outer world, the mind remains in turmoil.  David Allen’s system takes some work to set up, but is absolutely worth it.

Browne, Harry. How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World. A Handbook for Personal Liberty. “…showing you how to use libertarian principles to make your life much freer right now.”

Carnegie, Dale. How to Win Friends and Influence People. One of the first best-selling self-help books ever published. Stood the test of time. Absolute classic.

Hill, Napoleon. Think and Grow Rich. “…the author insists that the philosophy taught in the book can help people succeed in any line of work, to do and be anything they can imagine.” Sold over 100 million since its 1937 publication.

Carney, Scott. What Doesn’t Kill Us. Uncovers how just about anyone can reclaim our species’ evolutionary strength by reimagining how our bodies fit into the world and then slowly conditioning ourselves to unfamiliar environments.

Crum, Thomas F. The Magic of Conflict. “Turn conflict into powerful relationships, turn stress into health and vitality, turn pressure into peak performance and develop the art of centered leadership”

Sales, Marketing, Business

Boothman, Nicholas. Convince Them in 90 Seconds. How to convince and persuade.

Kennedy, Dan. The Ultimate Sales Letter and The Ultimate Marketing Campaign.

These two books are probably all you need to craft effective sales letters and marketing campaigns.

Dillard, Mike. List Grow. “Paint-by-numbers” net marketing. Persistence needed. Dillard says he made $50 million with this system.

De Vany, Arthur, PhD. The New Evolution Diet. Age 71. Testosterone levels of an 18-year-old. Tons of diets out there. Which ones can show this kind of result? From Wikipedia: “His ideas about fitness include a diet and fitness regime that promotes a more random behavior that mimics the natural way ancestral people lived in place of the steady and regular eating and exercise that are the norm in Western societies.”

Ferris, Timothy. The 4-Hour Body. “An uncommon guide to rapid fat-loss, incredible sex, and becoming superhuman” “A cookbook of minimalist methods for rapid body transformation – a practical crash course in how to reinvent yourself.” -Kevin Kelly, Wired Magazine

McGuff, Dr. Doug & John Little Body by Science. How 20 minutes a week is the most effective and fastest way to build muscle. Strong muscles are essential for health. This book covers  the basic science regarding the role of exercise in human development, performance and longevity.

Gibala, Martin and Christopher Shulgan. The One Minute Workout. No Time to Get Fit? Think Again:

Lanctot, Guylaine, M.D. The Medical Mafia. How to Get Out of it Alive and Take Back Our Health and Wealth. Expose of medical wrongdoings and how alternative methods hold the key.

McKinney, Dr. Neil. Naturopathic Oncology.

A textbook on how to prevent cancer and heal from it. I have found nothing more complete.

Nagel, Ramiel. Cure Tooth Decay. Remineralize Your Teeth Naturally with Good Food.“Five years ago my daughter’s teeth started to crumble apart. Rather than subject her to painful dental treatments, I sought to find what really causes tooth cavities. After painstaking trial and error, I found a program that works. To share this information with more people, I wrote the book, Cure Tooth Decay.” -Ramiel Nagel

O’Neill, William. How to Make Money in Stocks. A Winning System in Good Times and Bad

“… a proven 7-step process for minimizing risk and maximizing gains, has influenced generations of investors.”  I found it takes a few hours of study to set up and some time “paper trading.” The good news is then it only takes 10 minutes a day. The potential is superior returns with minimum downside.
