Have you any digestion slowdowns? Bloating perhaps? Some grumbling?
A friend made some suggestions that have helped me.
First, I have taken Betain HCl for some time and found it helpful. The body produces it but apparently less and less as we grow older.
Next is digestive enzymes. Same story. After mid-40s, we seem to produce less. So this might help some.
Those were not enough to ward off some bloating. Here are the friend’s suggestions that made a big difference.
Gastro Relief from AOR. Ginger, zinc, Mastic gum and some Vitamin C. Taken with meals.
In between meals, AOR’s Mastica Gum. The label explains it as mastic gum, the resinous extract of the mastic tree grown on the island of Chios in Greece. The label goes on: “Research shows that it helps alleviate stomach pain and heartburn associated with functional dyspepsia and is traditionally used in Ayurveda for Adhmana (excessive gas formation in the stomach and intestines).
