Those who want to make it so are missing something.

 

When we have a partner, it is not about sharing the chores equally.

 

It is about giving.

 

When both understand this, life becomes joy and even bliss.

 

 

 

There I was in my first apartment after leaving home.

 

Every morning I would wake up to a sink full of dirty dishes.

 

It took a little while to realize I may be doing dishes for some time. (It was true. I still wash dishes.)

 

So, I made a decision. Why not just choose to enjoy doing dishes. So I did.

 

I took me years to realize I could choose joy in other areas of life. (In fact, I wrote a book about it: The Zen of Joy. How to Rewire Your Brain for Happiness and Success. http://zenofjoy.com/ )

 

 

 

Back to our “social justice” issue.

 

In a partnership, if we try to share our workload 50/50 we are doomed to failure.

 

When both partners give it 100%, the relationship becomes magic.

 

Joy, love, happiness and bliss abounds.

 

Partly, it has to do with realizing that the act of giving is joy in and of itself.

 

When we give from the heart we receive more than the recipient.

 

Part of that is realizing that any so called chore can be made into joy.

 

It is just a choice.

 

What chore can you reframe and make into joy today?

Bliss is the “carrier” for our life energy.

 

Here is what Deepak Chopra says in QUANTUM HEALING:

 

“…it can alter the heart rate, blood pressure, hormone secretions, or anything else for that matter. This is what allows bliss to be useful medically…What is happening is that the body is receiving a signal from its own blueprint, not a material blueprint but the one that exists in consciousness.

Because the blueprint it invisible, it has to find a way to cross into material existence. To do that, nature employs bliss—it is a vibration that bridges mind and matter, allowing each bit of the body to be paired with a bit of intelligence…the mind-body connection (is) like a radio broadcast: mind is sending out impulses of intelligence, DNA receives them, and bliss is the carrier signal. On paper, these three elements have to be separated, but in reality they are completely fused. The message, the messenger, and the receiver are one. Of  course, we have looked at the mind-body connection dozens of times before, but we didn’t have the ‘glue’ that keeps mind and body from flying in separate directions—bliss.”

 

 

So…how to open up to bliss?

 

Deepak Chopra says meditation. He also mentions “primordial sound” as a healing modality.

 

I use Laughter Yoga, yoga type “exercises,” meditation, music, cold showers and breathing exercises.

 

What is clear to me now is that whatever else is going on around me, it is critical to find a way to access bliss moment by moment.

Embrace Your Shadow Side. Mastery Newsletter August 3, 2016

There I was a toddler in grade one. A small town school in Finland. We did not have indoor plumbing. But, we did get lunch every day.

One time we are having lunch in the classroom. It is just soup and bread. The teacher had to leave the room. She left two girls in charge of writing down anyone’s name who was misbehaving.

I was a shy young thing and just ate my soup. There was the class clown who went up to the girls and teased them. When one of them wrote his name down, he promptly erased it.

He did cause me to chortle into my soup. That was enough. My name went up on the blackboard. The class clown’s name did not stay there.

I had to stay after school for detention. The class clown got away with it.

How unfair!

This shadow lives with me today. When something unfair happens, that shadow shows up. I feel horrible. I am good at hiding it, sometimes even from myself. It is there just the same.

I can’t make the world be fair. So, all that is left is to release my reaction to the world being unfair.

This is my work. Releasing that minor trauma from my system. Until and unless I do that, those feeling stalk me.

I use Laughter Yoga, Yoga, deep breathing, cold exposure and meditation.

If you were watching the elections, you may now understand that “citizens'” voices have been silenced by people who think they know better than we do how we should live.

 

None of us are citizens in a free state now – we are essentially chattel of the banking system, only useful as long as we produce for our “Democracy,” which destroys us, one at a time.

 

At this point, fighting these bossy people is useless simply because they shoot you or incarcerate you if you won’t do what they tell you – they demand utter fealty, even to die for their cause of creating a perfect society, their way.

 

In the end, Leibniz and Candide were right – in this best of all possible worlds, the best thing we can do is to grow a garden. It’s time to stop voting with our brains and start voting by putting our shovels into the soil and getting in touch with Mom.”

It is often claimed that glucose is necessary for the brain… and it’s true.

The entire village of Alert Bay at the north end of Vancouver Island, Canada agreed to go back to their traditional native diet for one year. As it happened, that diet is high fat and low in carbs.

 

Not only did the participants lose weight, they had overall better health. Some lost their diabetes symptoms.

“The ketogenic diet was likely the diet of hunter-gatherers for most of our existence on Earth, except possibly in tropical areas where fruit was available much of the year. In has been known since the early 1900s that nutritional ketosis occurred in many of the Inuit people living in the Arctic, in whom chronic disease was a rarity. How to do it:

 

Limit carbs to 20 grams or less. Each of us is individual. Testing is essential.

 

Keep protein intake down to 1 gram per 1 kilogram of body weight.

 

Increase fat consumption (the good kind, of course) to 50-80%!

 

 

Devil’s in the details:

 

Start at 20 grams of carbs per day and adjust from there

 

Test your triglyceride levels. The optimal goal is below 70. Doctors think 135 is within normal levels…just so you know.

 

“When carb cravings hit, your body is really screaming for fat.”

 

If your glucometer shows you are not in ketosis yet, decrease carbs more and/or decrease protein intake.

 

 

“Fat is the key to being full and satisfied…Fat is your friend.”

 

Note that the ketogenic diet may not be appropriate for type 1 diabetics.

 

We don’t have to count calories. (Tim Ferris blew apart the theory of “calories in/calories out” in his book The Four Hour Body.) The keto diet regulates appetite.

 

 

Testing is Critical

 

“When someone tells me that they have tried the ketogenic diet and ‘it didn’t work,’ they usually haven’t attempted to measure their ketones and aren’t really in ketosis. It’s important to follow this diet for at least four to six weeks to evaluate it fairly.”                                                                                          –Dr. Dominic D’Agostino

 

 

Diet, not Medications

 

“Medications can ‘manage’ chronic illnesses like diabetes and obesity, but they cannot prevent or reverse them. But following a ketogenic diet is a potent way to prevent or reverse these common chronic diseases. As a clinician, I like having safe approaches that work with my patients. Careful if you plan to ask your doctor about the ketogenic diet: Your doctor may think that ketosis is the same as ketoacidosis. Not so:

 

“Ketoacidosis cannot possibly happen in anyone who still makes even a little bit of insulin. And, even if you are Type 1 diabetic who makes no insulin, ketoacidosis does not happen eating a low-carb diet–only a high-carb diet.” — Jimmy Moore

“Nicholas McCarthy (@NMcCarthyPiano) was born in 1989 without his right hand and only started to play the piano at the age of 14.

 

He was told he would never succeed as a concert pianist.

 

Fortunately, the doubters were wrong. His graduation from the prestigious Royal College of Music in London in 2012 appeared in press around the world, as he became the only one-handed pianist to graduate from the Royal College of Music in its 130-year history.

 

Nicholas has now performed extensively throughout the world, including the U.K., U.S., South Africa, South Korea, Japan, Malta, and Kazakhstan. He has also played alongside Coldplay and given a rendition of the Paralympic Anthem in front of an audience of 86,000 people and half a billion worldwide viewers.

Look at the research from David Berceli, author of The Revolutionary Trauma Release Process:

 

“Consider the fact that life begins traumatically. We come into the world through the painful process of birth—an experience where we are squeezed out of shape, pushed, and even sometimes pulled with hard, metallic instruments. It’s not a pleasant welcoming at all.

                Bursting into the light for the first time in our existence, our entry into the world is a shock to the human organism. A room filled with cold air, bright lights is a drastic change from the dark, soothing warmth we have become accustomed to in the womb. Making our debut in such a hostile atmosphere, it’s no wonder we begin life by bellowing our lungs out…

 

we are guaranteed to get bumps on the head, cuts, grazes…

 

our culture presents us with considerable psycho-emotional trauma…

 

When we are very young, trauma often accompanies even the most enjoyable of experiences…there’s always someone who wants the toy we are playing with…fun turns to tears, tantrums and trauma…we are threatened, yelled at, and perhaps even physically assaulted with a spanking…

 

When we begin school, we are likely to encounter bullying…Repeated bullying can be extremely traumatizing for a child…

 

As adults, we face new stresses and different sources of anxiety…a boss makes life difficult. A coworker betrays us. Or…we are let go…

 

Juggling career and family…can be especially anxiety-provoking…

 

(one report shows) that 40% of workers find their jobs to be stressful, and in many cases, extremely stressful.”

 

 

Trauma Can Wreck Your Health

 

As David Berceli outlines in his book, unresolved trauma can be at the root of a lot of chronic pain for which a cause has not been pinpointed.

 

When we are in a situation of life or death, or even a perceived situation of life or death, our system pumps up our fight or flight hormones. This is a survival mechanism. We need the adrenalin to get out of danger and save our lives.

 

The problem is if those fight or flight hormones are not turned off, we can be thrown off balance internally.

 

This is what many refer to as “being stressed out.”

 

Stress is recognized as being a major factor in illness. We are not meant to be in a continual state of stress. The stress hormone production turns off other systems in our bodies.

 

For example, digesting food is not on the radar when being chased by a saber toothed tiger. All our resources are focused on survival. The food digestion enzymes are not being produced while running. Nor are a host of other functions that deal with keeping us healthy.

 

If we don’t turn off the stress or fight or flight hormone production, our bodies can pay a high price.

 

These include “…anxiety disorder, depression, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal troubles, some cancers, and premature aging.. Stress also seems to increase the frequency and severity or migraine headaches, episodes of asthma, and fluctuation of blood sugar in diabetics.

 

Additionally, there is evidence that people experiencing significant psychological stress are more prone to develop colds and other infections that those who are less stressed. This is because stress reduces the efficiency of our immune system, which would normally fight off infection.”

 

“Gut and chest-related symptoms include irritable bowel syndrome, cramps and diarrhea, and gastro-esophageal reflux.

 

There is some evidence to suggest that fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome may also be connected with the freeze response…Multiple chemical sensitivity…Asthma…a stutter…premenstrual syndrome, and postpartum psychosis ca be exacerbated by trauma. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and sleep apnea can also be related to trauma.”

 

In fact, any condition can have trauma as a contributing factor.

 

 

The Iceman Solution

 

Meanwhile, the Iceman, Wim Hof, is helping many with their trauma. Here is one post in his Facebook group:

I am diagnosed with Autism and in november it was too unbearable for me.

 

I knew I had to do something so I started with the Wim Hof inspiration. Using the cold to get stronger and later I was learning the Wim Hof breathing excercise.

 

I can do more things now, but sometimes I can do nothing. What is wrong with me? I made a big discovery about myself.

 

It turns out I have a bunch of trauma’s also called Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder.

It turns out all of my Autism symptoms are actually the behaviour of trauma’s.

 

I met Wim Hof in November with the Ice challenge event.

I talked to him and he said:

This guy is cured from his Autism!

I knew that it was not meant seriously but more like a motivation.

 

Last days I felt a pain in my chest. What is wrong with me? Why I feel that broken heart of 8 years ago again?

 

When I was a child. I felt alone. I had no friends. I didn’t understand people. At home there where fights and we where poor. We had almost no money.

 

At the age of 15 I felt in Love. But she didn’t liked me. She rejected me. I felt terrible and because I had no friends to talk too and my parents had other problems it was too difficult to handle the emotions. The broken heart evolved in a PTSD!

 

My autism behaviour was born. For more than 8 years I feel the same broken heart. Turns out that trauma’s actually behave with Adrenaline. When they see Danger you get a stress reaction, Fight, Flight or Freeze.

 

When I see actractive girls I get insecure. I get the same stress reaction. Because the Adrenaline my heart and stumache get’s not enough blood. That maked me tired and I can do nothing and I feel butterflies in my stumach.

 

I was quiting school and never started to work. People always finded me lazy and bullying me. In simple words I had no energy because the trauma’s.

 

Now with the Wim Hof breathing method I am learning to control my blood circulations and the adrenaline to handle broken heart syndrome and trauma reactions.

 

What he said is true. This is the cure for Autism.

 

Of course children are born with Autism, but that only means they have another working brain!

 

I am not good in social things, but I am very smart and creative.

 

Nobody is born with a stress disorder!

 

Children that are less social they are bullied and left alone.

 

All those childrens get small trauma’s on young age because the world is built for social people or they had other bad things happened in the past.

 

At later age they all have the behaviour of what people see as Autism stress and that are actually trauma’s. It is blocked in there mind. They don’t know the cause, but I discovered mine because I am Stronger now.

Personal note:

I was inspired to take his course. As of this writing, I am on week 8 of Wim’s 10 week course.

 

My energy level is improved. I would say at least double the energy.

 

It is a step by step process. His system builds up the immune system over time. I expect and hope to continue to increase energy. I hope to improve my health more and more as time goes on.

Don’t be Afraid to Mess up Your Life. Mastery Newsletter June 29, 2016

It can make all the difference

 

I was packing up the night before my flight to London, England last month. Couldn’t find my passport anywhere. I knew it was around as I remembered slipping into one of these new RFID protected passport cases. (Passports and credit cards with microchips need to be protected as criminals can buy cheap machines for scanning all the info off them)

 

As the evening wore on, I was getting more and more agitated. Anything else but the passport and I could still fly. But they won’t let you on the plane without the government stamp of approval that the passport conveys.

 

I had gone through my suitcase a few times but to no avail. Eventually I went to sleep trusting and hoping it would show up in the morning.

 

On the morrow and in desperation, I pulled everything apart in the suitcase and voila, there it was…huge sigh of relief.

 

Why had I not seen it earlier?

 

Because I was afraid to mess up my suitcase! You see, I learned this trick from Arthur Frommer’s book “Europe on Five Dollars a Day.” (yes, a long time ago). By tightly rolling up shirts, one can arrive and have them not be wrinkled. I had been afraid to unroll them. I didn’t want to have to roll them up again.

 

It was only when I was willing to make a mess that I discovered my treasure…my passport.

 

It occurs to me that this may be a wonderful analogy for life.

 

What treasure am I not finding because I am afraid to mess up my neatly ordered life?

 

Hmm…thought to keep in mind.

How to Find Your Passionate Work. Mastery Newsletter June 1, 2016

This is the protocol I used to decide on a career. It works like a charm and you won’t need any expensive courses or seminars. This takes care of it all. Ready?

1) Brainstorm….that means no allow no restriction to enter while you do this. Write out everything, but EVERYTHING you like and/or love to do. Do not try to connect it to making money or to anything else. Just write down EVERYTHING you like to do…in any order…just write and don’t stop, keep going until you have written down absolutely everything you like or love to do. Don’t take the pen off the page or your fingers off the keyboard. Just keep writing until it is ALL down.

 

2) Now (and only now) prioritize them, giving them numbers from 1 to 20 or whatever.

 

3) Take #1 and brainstorm what you could do to make money from the thing love most to do. List at least 20! Again, this is brainstorming. The definition of brainstorming is that there are no wrong ideas. If it sound silly or impractical or both, it doesn’t matter. Just keep writing and put down everything that comes to mind. Do not allow your inner censor into the game at this point. There will be time for that later. One crazy and nuts idea might lead to another one and another one and it may lead to light bulb idea or a connection of ideas put together that may be JUST the ticket.

 

4) Take #2 and do the same, and

 

5) Do the same for #3.

 

You now have 60 things you can do to make money from stuff you love to do. Brainstorming means TURNING OFF the inner voice that interjects things like…”Oh but you can’t do THAT” BE TOTALLY FREE whilst listing each list of 20.

 

When I did this decades ago, I couldn’t find anything I really wanted to do from my list of 20 for the thing I like most to do (sex), so I went to #2 (making money) and that, boys and girls, is the true story of how I had a 15 year career as a financial planner…and quite a ride is was too. 🙂

Freedom and Lies, A Special Report from Mastery Newsletter May 11, 2016

THERE IS AN INTERNATIONAL BANKING CARTEL THAT HAS, OVER CENTURIES, SEIZED CONTROL OF THE CREATION OF MONEY AND ARE USING THIS POWER TO ENSLAVE US.

This creation of money is totally out of thin air!!! The result: huge government, corporate and personal debt, created out of thin air!! Yes, the entire federal and provincial debts have been created out of thin air.

 

The implications of this situation are that, according to some researchers:

 

THE INCOME TAX YOU PAY TO THE GOVERNMENT, FOR THE MOST PART, DOES NOT GO TO SOCIAL PROGRAMS, BUT IS SIPHONED OFF BY THE INTERNATIONAL BANKING CARTEL TO ACCUMULATE AND CENTRALIZE MORE POWER IN ITS HANDS.

 

Some researchers in this field say that, in Canada, the interest on our national debt is not 34% as officially published, but closer to 90%!!!! If true, this means that 90% of your tax dollars go to empower the international banking cartel to reach their STATED goal.

 

THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF THE INTERNATIONAL BANKING CARTEL IS TO SEIZE CONTROL OF THE PLANET AND ITS INHABITANTS, WITH ONE WORLD CURRENCY AND ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT UNDER ITS SOLE AND TOTAL CONTROL AND A CASHLESS SOCIETY!

 

Some researchers say they intend to do this by implanting a microchip in each person’s wrist that carries, not only your ID number, but also your money. In other words, the chip replaces not only your social insurance card, but also your debit card. No more need for bank accounts. Unfortunately, this would also mean they would be able to a) track you wherever you are by satellite, b) wipe out your money if you displeased them and c) send impulses to the chip to cause you to have the thoughts and feelings they want you to have.

 

Fanciful? The technology for this is already here, has been for awhile. They already have implanted cats and dogs (if Fido gets lost, why when we find him, we just swipe him by a scanner and we know who the owner is!!) And they have already implanted chips in some human babies, to the delight of their mothers!!

 

Taking money from us through taxation and the hidden taxation of inflation is only one way that we have our life blood sucked from us. If we are to be truly free, we must discover if we are being enslaved in other ways, if forms of energy other than money are being siphoned off from us and, if so, what can we do about it?

Documentation: “MEDICAL MAFIA” by Dr. GuyLaine Lanctot. Lanctot was a doctor in Canada, the US and France for 30 years. Her research is nothing short of astounding. It led her to the international banking cartel through the medical system. As a doctor, she had all of the misinformation, propaganda and yes, brainwashing that the system could throw at her. She independently researched and found:

 

THREE GREAT LIES OF THE MEDICAL SYSTEM:

 

1) VACCINATIONS ARE GOOD FOR YOU.  A LIE.

 

Lanctot’s research shows that vaccinations are a conscious and cynical initiative by the international banking cartel for control of people. An unhealthy populace is easier to control than a vital and energetic peoples. Vaccinations are also a population control initiative by the cartel.

 

2) AIDS IS CONTAGIOUS. A LIE.

 

Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi Propaganda Minister, used a technique called the Big Lie. Tell the people a big enough lie often enough and they will believe it. Nowhere is this more evident than with the AIDS story.  AIDS is actually a virus that was concocted by the American military as part of germ warfare research. It was then injected into the gay population in six American cities, into Haiti and, as a World Health Organization supposed Hepatitis vaccination program, into a large part of the population of Africa.

HIV actually has nothing to do with AIDS. There are many cases of HIV positive people living in perfect health for well over a decade and there are many cases of AIDS patients who do not have HIV!!!!

 

3) CANCER IS A MYSTERY. A LIE.

 

Cures for cancer exist. Those who know about it and try to help others, whether they are doctors or lay people, are hounded by the system, defamed in the media, ruined, jailed and sometimes killed. In Her book, Lanctot tells of a group of researchers who discovered a cure for cancer in 1934. The then President of the American Medical Association demanded a cut. He was refused. He then quashed the cure and one of the researchers was killed in a car accident.

 

The route to freedom is:

 

1) Research with an inquiring mind. Believe nothing anyone tells you (including me!!) until you check it out with your gut instincts.

 

There is NO substitute for your own personal knowledge. Read “CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND” as a starting point. Read MEDICAL MAFIA. There are many other sources.

 

2) Implement. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a first step. BEGIN.

 

KEEP YOUR EYES FIRMLY FIXED ON THE GOAL: FREEDOM AND YOU WILL REACH IT.

 

One of the ways the cartel keeps us enslaved is to keep us so busy we have no time to look around and see how things really are. I KNOW you are busy. That is the way it was planned. But, no one else can create freedom for you, but you!  If you truly desire freedom, ONLY YOU CAN MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Update and Caution on The Sugar Fix Report.

This report has some important updates to pay attention to. Specifically, the role of glucose, which the author of The Sugar Fix says is benign. Fructose is the culprit in his study of sugar.

My naturopath, Dr. Kevin Jackson, corrected me when I mentioned it. He pointed to studies he has access to showing glucose to be a culprit as well.

Further study of the Ketogenic Diet points out that the burning of ketones by the body instead of glucose has produced vibrant health for many.

With that in mind, here is the Special Report on The Sugar Fix.

Release of trauma

 

This is what the Iceman course is doing for me. Wim Hof’s 10 week course: week 4 day 2.

 

We all have trauma. See David Berceli’s THE REVOLUTIONARY TRAUMA RELEASE PROCESS.

 

Three sets of muscles contract during trauma and stay contracted: the psoas, the iliacus and the diaphragm. Other muscles can get and stay contracted too.

 

This tension creates lack of nerve flow, blood flow and vital energy flow or “chi.” This tension also cuts off sensation. In other words, the pain contained in that tense muscle is so intense that the body, as a defence mechanism, cuts off the sensation of pain to the brain. This is so we don’t have to feel the pain on a moment by moment basis.

 

Note that the pain is still there.

 

Example: decades ago, I slipped on an icy concrete step in the middle of winter and landed right on my tailbone. This caused a long term tightening of the muscles surrounding the tailbone as well as the three muscle group: psoas, iliacus and diaphragm.

 

The yoga type exercises we are doing in week 4 are making me aware of that pain, breathing into it and helping to release it.

 

The Wim Hof Method is not the only system that does this. Berceli has a system. Other writers do as well. Yoga and tai chi also release these from the inside out.

 

It’s just that Wim’s method of breathing exercises, not to mention the cold showers, is a proven formula now for really digging in deep and releasing that trauma.

 

Further, Wim trains folks to get control of their nervous system. So it is more than trauma release. It is trauma release aligned with mental training. Gaining control of the mind and using it to open up hidden energy blocks in the body.

 

The resulting mental toughness can bring about a sense of inner calm as well as allowing energy to flow to areas of the body that have been starved of nutrients, nerve flow and blood flow.

 

Wim has made it a step by step process, slowly increasing the challenge level.

 

This is such an exciting program. Thank you Wim.

Untangling the Conditioning: How We Can “Un-Brainwash” Ourselves? Mastery Newsletter April 20, 2016

We all have some programming/conditioning

 

How can we undo the conditioning and be free?

 

Wim Hof, the Iceman, has done it by training his body AND mind and gained control of his autonomic nervous system

 

He has trained others to do it. Researchers have confirmed this is a trainable skill

 

This means we may be able to overcome the modern dis-eases: cancer, diabetes, heart disease and others

 

 

 

Question: How does a person know if they are brainwashed?

 

Answer: BY DEFINITION, one cannot know. That is included in the definition of the word.

 

Therefore, the only safe assumption is that I am brainwashed.

 

Accepting this, what can I do to do undo the programming/conditioning I have been subjected to?

 

(Notice how it can be easier to accept if we use gentler words like “programming” and “conditioning?”)

 

I have been struggling/working with this challenge for years now.

 

Interim solutions have included tai chi, yoga, meditation, NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming, EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique, Donna Eden’s energy work, various breathing techniques, Laughter Yoga, rebirthing and a host of other techniques, many of which I wrote about in my book The Zen of Joy, How to Rewire Your Brain for Happiness and Success. http://zenofjoy.com/

 

Wim Hof’s Iceman course is the latest and greatest.

 

Wim has shown it is possible to gain control of our autonomic nervous system. He has earned himself a chapter in the latest biology texts.

 

Not only can he withstand cold, hiking Everest in shorts and boots only and running a marathon in minus 20 degrees in shorts.

 

He also sat in a tub of ice for an hour and a half and his skin temperature remained the same.

 

Researchers in Holland, his home country, concluded he must be a one-off. So he trained 12 others and they were tested and were able to pull off the same control of their autonomic nervous systems.

 

Scientifically proven now that this is a trainable skill.

 

Wim says “We are going to win the greatest war ever…the war of the bacteria, viruses…”

 

What this means is we may have the potential to heal ourselves of the maladies and conditions of modern society: cancer, heart disease, diabetes and…fill in the blank with your most feared condition.

Main Points:

My experience so far: nothing short of incredible. Best couple of hundred bucks I have spent for many a moon, buying his course.

 

At age 69, I figure there are two pathways: either accept older age and the health challenges that come with it: potential slowing down and all the modern dis-eases: cancer, diabetes, heart disease and who knows what else.

 

Or

 

“Rage, rage against the dying of the light”

 

I choose the latter. Wim Hof’s method seems to me to combine many modalities:

 

Exercise, yoga, stretching, breathing techniques, meditation, energy work, inner smile from tai chi and qigong, trauma release work and even emotional freedom.

 

It has elements of all those and Wim adds working with cold. He says “cold is a noble force.” I am experiencing that with daily cold showers, now up to two minutes at a time.

 

The awakening of vibrant energy is astonishing. What a wonderful addiction to have…being addicted to your own energy. Wowee zowiee. Such fun.

 

Cold showers too much for you?

 

Here is the discovery: We are meant to work harder as we age.

 

We are NOT meant to take it easy. That is the programming that modern society imposes on us. You know: work hard so you can retire and take it easy.

 

What crap!

 

With all the experience, knowledge and yes, perhaps some wisdom that we have acquired throughout our lives, we as elders owe it to ourselves to continue contributing to the wellbeing of others.

 

Why should we be denied one of the great treasures of life, giving and contributing?

 

It is an open secret that when we help others, WE are the ones who benefit more than they do!!!

 

Learning how to give more, contribute more and love more leads us to our own joy, happiness and salvation.

 

So yes, the Iceman course is hard work. But oh is it joyous. Yes yes yes.

Reviving the Handshake

 

Or..I’ve been hugging so long, I’ve forgotten how to shake hands.

 

This mania for hugging finally got to me when I read an article about how shaking hands can get the body producing oxytocin faster than hugging.

 

Oxytocin is the “love hormone.” Wikipedia tells us: “It plays a role in social bonding”

 

Apparently, it takes a minimum of 20 seconds of hugging for the hypothalamus to generate oxytocin, but shaking hands does it quicker. Well, well.

 

So I have been experimenting with and reacquainting myself with shaking hands with friends. We still hug as well so we get the best of both worlds.

 

One of the things I notice is that we can have eye contact with hand shaking. That may explain at least partly how oxytocin is created quicker with a handshake than a hug. May also have something to do with skin to skin contact. (skin to skin hugging may work faster, but there is all that time taken up getting naked before a hug…not practical much of the time.)

 

Also started noticing the great variety in handshakes. In the last few weeks, I have had many of them, including one bone crusher. Ouch.

What is Wealth?

How about considering all the intangible assets? Health, vitality, energy, joy, happiness, family and friends? These may be the true wealth in life.

 

The Beatles said: “The love you take is equal to the love you make.”

 

So, unlike tangible assets, we may be able to take the sum of the intangibles with us to the next phase after physical body death…love.

5.Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow (see 2) and the user will buy new hardware. – Yup, Windows does that, too.

 

Until now it seems Windows is a virus but there are fundamental differences: Viruses are well supported by their authors, are running on most systems, their program code is fast, compact and efficient and they tend to become more sophisticated as they mature.

 

So Windows is not a virus.

 

It’s a bug.

7 Action Steps to More Joy, Energy and Health

What if a few minutes a day could double your enjoyment of life?

Would that be worth it?

 

Who does not want more joy, greater energy and/or vibrant health?

 

It just seems like we have so little time in our modern world. “I don’t have any more time to add more techniques. I’m busy enough already. Besides, I’m doing OK.”

 

That’s why I put these 7 Steps together for you. A few minutes a day is all they take.

 

Plus you can start with just one at a time…even adding one per week for seven weeks can work wonders for your joy, your energy and your health.

1) Intuit

 

Believe that the answers are within.

 

You have all the power, all the resources already within you to meet life’s challenges.

 

Guidelines for intuiting from The Zen of Joy:

 

“…there are 50 million bits of information coming at us every second…The conscious mind doesn’t stand a chance. We have been trying to operate in this world with both hands tied behind our backs…Never will we have all the information on which to base a decision. There are just too many variables, seen and unseen, for the conscious mind to take in, never mind sort out. It’s like a three-dimensional jigsaw puzzle that is constantly moving. More likely a four or five-dimensional puzzles in dimensions we don’t even know exist—all in constant motion

 

…ask a question of your subconscious. With the understanding that the subconscious is plugged into the infinite wisdom of the universe, anything we ask it, it can answer.  It does so by scanning, for want of better words, the infinite records of the universe. The records that are always there, but not open to the conscious mind.   A great way to do this is:

 

Just before falling asleep, ask: ‘…I ask for and am willing to receive the answer to this question: (state the question).  Thank for providing the answer for me. And it is done.’

Don’t be surprised… if you receive elegant solutions to some of the stickiest “problems” or situations in your life.  It has happened for many others. It can happen for you too.”

 

2) Prioritize

 

Getting answers to sticky challenges is a wonderful first step. We may however still feel overwhelmed by the many demands on our time. Welcome to the 21st Century.

It has become almost a badge of honour to be extremely  busy.

 

It is time to end the glorification of busy!

 

First, we need to recognize that overwhelm is an emotion. In reality, it has nothing to do with the number of tasks on our “To Do List.” It IS an emotion and as such it is possible to resolve it.

 

Second, recognize that the “To Do List” will NEVER be finished. Breathe and let it go. (We will address breathing in a few moments.)

 

Third, ensure you are addressing the most important items in your life. As Steven Covey told us in THE SEVEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE, the most important things are not always the most urgent. If we only do the most urgent things, we can find ourselves not focusing on what is important to us in our lives.

 

Here is one way. Use your intuition skill that you  are developing to identify what is really and truly important in your life. Then, once a week identify three things you can do to move forward with your important items.

 

Now, this is a critical point: ensure that those three things are do-able within one week. They may only be baby steps and better if they are.

 

Then, COMMIT TO DOING THOSE THREE THINGS, NO MATTER WHAT! COMMIT.

 

If you make them baby steps, it is easier.

 

Then, when you complete each one, CELEBRATE! We will shortly cover that as well.

 

 

3) Breathe.

 

Stay in the Present Moment

 

From The Zen  of Joy:

 

“The self-development literature tells us that when we hold our breath, we come out of the “present moment.” And all our power is in the present moment. Unless you have found some secret of time travel that the rest of us don’t know about, you cannot act in the past. The past is over. As much as we may want to go back and correct mistakes we made, we can’t go back in time and act. It’s the same with the future. We can’t act in the future. We can plan to act, but we can’t teleport ourselves into the future, not even one minute…

 

 All our power is in the present moment because it is only in the present moment that we can act. So, how can we increase our power?…

 

The answer: Be present. Live in the “Now.”  How many of us actually do that? “Well, I would if it was easy.” “It’s OK for some, but I have to earn a living. Do you know the pressures on my time? Work, family, taking care of the daily chores, fixing the leaky pipes … . It seems like I never get any time for myself. How am I going to find time to meditate?”  That’s why the Zen of Joy was written, for you to find the easy way to do this, to open up to the power that is available to us at every moment

 

How to make deep breathing automatic and unconscious

 

This is called The Pause Method.  Do it with me now:

Focus on the pause between the in breath and the out breath. Then, focus on the pause between the out breath and the in breath. During the process of inhalation and exhalation, there is a very slight pause in between the two.

 

See for yourself. Stop reading for a moment and notice your breath. Did you notice the pause? We are not to try to control the breathing in any way. And we are not trying to locate where in the body the pause is.  We are just noticing.

 

At first, you may do this for 5 minutes or so and you will notice a difference. You can work up to 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the evening. Even at the beginning, you may find one session has you breathing deeper and more relaxed for more than an hour afterwards.

 

The more you practice this, the more your ability to take a deep breath will increase on its own. Keep it up and you will soon develop an unconscious habit of deep breathing that will go on automatically. This is one of the easiest and most effective methods of learning deep breathing.  Give it a try.

 

 

4) Dream

 

Record Your Dreams

 

Have either a recorder or pen and paper handy on your night table. When you wake up, record what you remember of your dreams.

 

(Everyone dreams. If you believe you don’t, try this: Last thing at night before falling asleep, ask your higher self to remember your dream. Use the intuition skill you are learning.)

 

Trust that your higher self is creating dreams for your benefit. Reflect on them…just a little. Don’t get obsessed. Patterns may or may not emerge. Some “ah-hahs” may occur.

 

Have fun. Just remembering dreams can be fun. You may even look forward to falling asleep for the next instalment in the longest running comedy/drama “TV series.” And it is created just for you. Enjoy it more fully by recording it in your “dream journal.”

 

 

 

5) Be Mindful

 

Pay Attention. Work on/Play with Becoming More Aware

 

You may have heard about this latest catchphrase: “Mindfulness.” In fact, you may heard it one too many times.

 

If so, bear with me. Mindfulness is nothing more than unhooking from the overwhelm of emotions in the modern world. Also as the rightful death of an impossible concept: “Multi-tasking.”

Mindfulness just means “paying attention.”

 

We live in a world of distractions. So much is vying for our attention: Look, it’s raining…what’s the forecast? Look, terrorism, be afraid. Look, the latest virus to threaten human life on earth as we know it. Look, the world’s environment is falling apart. News is addictive and we can allow ourselves to be easily distracted by the “crisis of the day.”

 

If  you were to believe the media (and many do), we are ALWAYS on the eve of destruction. “The state of the world is desperate…as usual.”

 

We  can easily buy into “busy-ness” as our “Standard Operating Procedure.”

 

Mindfulness takes heed of the saying: “Nature never hurries, yet everything gets done.”

 

How do you expect to improve on Nature’s Standard Operating Procedure by hurrying?

 

Mindfulness is about paying attention. When you are walking, take note of how your foot and leg moves forward, note the pressure of the foot on the ground. Deepen that attention.

 

When you are washing dishes, put one dish in the drying rack before moving your attention to the next dish.

 

When you are sitting down, settle in and notice the movement.

 

Slow down. Trust that everything will get done. That’s how Nature does it. How do you think you can improve on Nature?

 

Slow down. Notice.

 

You can eventually speed up and still notice.

 

 

 

6) Love Yourself

 

Look in the Mirror. Say “I Love You, I Really Love You.”

 

Look in the mirror, look deeply into your eyes and while holding your hands over your heart, say: “I love you. I really love you.” Say for 20 seconds as one of the first things in the morning.

 

No one can love you more than you love yourself. Remember what we started out with?

 

”Believe that the answers are within. You have all the power, all the resources already within you to meet life’s challenges.”

 

We have been taught to search  for love outside of ourselves. The great secret is that love is within. This sounds easy, but it can be one of the most challenging things ever. Stay with it. Move through any uncomfortable feelings. Yes, it may be uncomfortable at first. You can choose to move through that discomfort.

 

“Love yourself first and everything else falls in line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” -Lucille Ball

 

 

 

7) Celebrate

Celebrate EVERYTHING.

 

Something  else we have been taught is be hyper critical of ourselves. This is supposed to do what? Motivate us to do better? Does it do that? Or does is de-motivate us?

 

If a child receives constant criticism, what happens? The answer? We are human, if we get battered, the reaction is to shrink back, curl up in a ball. It is a natural defensive response.

 

If a child receives praise for getting something done, what happens? Does that child tend to blossom more than the one who is constantly criticized?

 

We have also been taught not to “blow our own horns.” That has some value, no question. However, if we combine that with constant self criticism, we can also shrink and curl up inside, just like the child.

 

Try this out. See what happens. When you do something right acknowledge yourself. Don’t poo-poo it just because it was a small thing.

 

From The Zen of Joy:

Whenever you have a “win,” whatever it may be, celebrate it. Now, the first thing is recognizing a “win.” A win is whenever we do something right. And guess what?  We do all kinds of things right all the time.  We have been conditioned to gloss over them and just notice our mistakes! We have even been conditioned to downplay our “wins” and feel uncomfortable when someone compliments us. Many of us even pooh-pooh our accomplishments, “Oh, that! That’s nothing…

This double whammy of pooh-poohing our own talents and skills and at the same time keenly looking for and finding our mistakes and faults means we are not living in good feelings or living in “the flow.”  Being “in the flow” is where the magic happens.  Feeling energized by praise for a job well done means we have the momentum to keep going and enjoy the process. Really enjoying what we are doing allows us to be more efficient, more effective and more productive at what we do. So, how do we get into “the flow?”  Celebrate All Wins!

 

You can start right now. Because you are reading this, you are in the small minority of people who are actually taking action to improve themselves. Most do not. Most want a pill to take or someone else to do it for them.

 

So celebrate that, right here, right now. Right now make a fist with your right hand (or left if it is the dominant hand).  Reach out and up with your fist, palm side up.  Bring your fist down and back to your side strongly and say, “YES!” out loud.  Do it again, even stronger.  What does this do?  It “anchors” the win, the feeling of accomplishment in your body.  It takes ownership of the accomplishment.

 

It means you are taking credit for your success.  You are praising yourself and rightfully so!  What else does this do?  By triggering good feelings in the body, it is now easier to move on to the next task at hand in a more positive frame of mind, or “state” of being or feeling in the body.  This helps to ensure you are bringing more of your abilities, skills and, yes, talents to bear on the next item on your list, to your next task, your next challenge.  Also, this gives you a “tool” you can use to power your way through the inevitable challenges you will face in the future.

 

How? The next time you feel fear and/or anxiety, you can use this action of fist pumping to release the fear and access the “winning state” in your body.  When next you feel fear or anxiety, simply pump your fist and say, “YES!” out loud again.  You will immediately access the previous successful or winning state in your body and be fully empowered to access your abilities, skills and talents on the fear-inducing challenge.

Bonus Step #8: Meditate

 

Two Minutes. Sit. Watch Your Breath. Daily.

 

We all the same number of hours, minutes and seconds in each day. Yet, how are some able to accomplish so much? Author Deepak Chopra has written 80 books in his career. As of this  writing, he is only 68 years of age. How did he do that? And how does he continue to do so?

He spends two hours every morning doing his meditation and other self improvement “stuff.” And still he has time to write 80 books over his lifetime. It took me 13 months to mine! (The Zen of Joy http://zenofjoy.com/ )

 

Can we stop to consider that perhaps it is BECAUSE he spends two hours meditating and “stuff” that he is so productive? Could it be that the state of mind he enters because of the meditation allows for more “flow” in his life? Could it be that meditation produces a deeper connection with our intuition? Could it be that allowing some direction from our subconscious through intuition, that we may find ourselves more productive as well?

 

From The  Zen of Joy.

“The word “meditation” may conjure up images of monks sitting in solitary caves in saffron robes and living simple lives with no possessions.

 

However, meditation is just a process to become more mindful and aware, to be fully present in the “now.” Past and future are concepts that live in the mind. Meditation allows us to feel the fullness of life energy coursing through our bodies, minds, emotions and spirits. Meditation is, therefore, a ritualized way of getting into a blissful state.

 

For me, it is a wonderful, joyous, blissful and ecstatic ritual. There are many different schools of thought on meditation. You do not need to become a “Meditation Scholar” to get benefits. You can choose the method you are drawn to and are comfortable with.

 

Here are two that I like. The first one is from Ho’Oponopono and it is as simple as can be. It takes little effort and can easily and relatively effortlessly be integrated into your daily routine.  The second one is “The Presence Process.”

 

The Ho’Oponopono meditation goes like this.

Sit comfortably. I like to think of a silk strand attached to the top of my head at the back suspending my spine. Visualize the individual vertebrae being like pearls suspended on a string.  Ensure a good posture that allows for relaxation of your muscles as much as possible.  Focus also on relaxing the muscles around the eyes, the mouth, jaw and neck.

Take a big breath and sigh it out. I find that a good preparation as it helps to relax the system even more.  You may choose to do protocol #1 to get connected to the Inner Smile.  Now, this is a series of 7 breaths. You may keep your eyes open or closed or, my preference, halfway closed, so I am still aware of my surroundings but not captivated by them.

 

Here is one way of keeping track of the number of breaths. Place your thumb on the end of your index finger for breath one. For breath two, move your thumb to the next finger. For breath three, the ring finger and breath four the pinkie. Start again at the index finger for breath five, six and seven.

 

Each breath consists of four parts.  Breathe in through the nose for a gentle count of 7, hold for a count of 7, breathe out for a count of 7 and hold for a count of 7. That is one breath.  Now the thumb moves to the next knuckle (the inner knuckle of the finger next to the forefinger) for breath #2. Continue until 7 breaths are complete.

 

It helps to have the Inner Smile in place, but is not essential as the Inner Smile can arise on its own during this process.  Your focus is on the breath.  This is an easy and gentle way to discover and or deepen your meditation practice.

 

You don’t have to in any way worry about your thoughts. Just let thoughts do what they do.  As you focus on your breath, you may find the “Witness.” The witness notices the thoughts but is not attached to them.  No need to go looking for the witness or wonder where it is. There is no need to do anything except breathe in the prescribed manner.

 

If you find your mind wandering and lose focus on the breath, be assured that this is normal and absolutely fine. It is important not to kick yourself for lack of focus. Just gently bring yourself back to noticing the breath.  It’s as simple as that.

 

The benefits of this meditation are its simplicity and its minimum requirement for any great amount of discipline. It calms your system and does it fairly quickly.  It also takes little time. That is one of the main factors in the Zen of Joy. The protocols all need very little of your day to practice and get the benefits.  Each breath takes me about 20 seconds. Therefore seven of them equals about 140 seconds, or 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Let’s call it 2 and a half minutes. Twice a day is 5 minutes.

Is it any wonder folks throw up their hands and say the heck with it.

It’s just too confusing.

Guess what?

It’s designed that way. That is exactly what they want folks to do.

“They” would not want us to be healthy. There is too much profit

in keeping us ill and consuming drugs.

 

“The pharmaceutical industry is one of the biggest industries in the world.

It’s a trillion dollar industry. It is the number one lobbyist in

Washington D.C. and the state capitols. It gives $2.6 billion–twice

what oil and gas give to our political leaders.

The pharmaceutical industry gives four times to our politicians

hands and saying: “One study contradicts the other. What’s the point?

I’m just going to ignore it all and ‘just eat healthy'”
They have the reporters parroting the drug company releases

and believing the “Big Pharma” shills (paid or otherwise).

 

The science on vitamin C is undeniable, yet ‘health specialists’

(lamestream media reporters) ignore the facts.

 

Here is a good article showing how what we get from the

media about health is so distorted, it is dangerous.

 

It is now well-established that individuals with highest blood
