How To Be Safe As The World Falls Apart. Mastery Newsletter January 28, 2020

Every 500 years or so the world falls apart and then renews.

 

According to shamans in the South American jungle, this happened 500 years ago.

 

The Spanish conquistador Pizarro brought about the end of the Inka empire.

 

We are in the middle of such an event now.

 

A time of great danger for humanity.

 

“…we can see the signs of collapse all around us, from climate to economics to toxic cities and workplaces.”

–Alberto Villoldo writing in THE HEART OF THE SHAMAN

 

The bad news? There is nowhere that will be safe, according to Villoldo’s shaman Don Manuel.

 

The good news? “…there will be safe people, who create safety around them simply with their light.”

 

 

The question then is…How can you and I be one of those who create safety? How can you and I amplify our light?

 

Villoldo suggests a ritual.

 

Create a “despacho.” This exercise helps us to become co-creators of the universe.

 

Put salt on a plate. Place some flower petals on it. Using a toothpick, make a drawing.

 

Anything you like. Be like a child and play with it. Allow your inner artist to come out and play.

 

Be grateful for all your blessings. Give thanks for all your challenges and tests.

 

Ask that their lessons be revealed to you.

 

You may now put the salt in a bathtub and have a soak…in your own prayers.

 

“To give form to a sacred dream you have to create something with your hands—a mandala, a poem, a meal.”

 

This is one exercise to help your sacred dream come to life.

How can we have less stress?

How can we generate the “feel-good” hormones more of the time instead of the stress hormones?

Adrenaline and cortisol are meant to kick in when we are faced with danger.

 

Someone cuts us off in traffic. Stress hormones flood the mind and body in that instant.

 

We react. The danger passes.

 

But we continue to produce those hormones and feel stressed for the rest of the day. Or even weeks, months or years afterward.

 

We are not designed for this.

 

Animals shake off their stress when the danger has passed.

 

We modern humans tend to hang on to them.

 

That is when these useful hormones become “The Devil’s Cocktail.”

 

Digestion is affected. Immune function is lowered.

 

We become irritable, intolerant, critical.

 

Memory is impaired. We make bad decisions.

 

The opposite of this is “The Angel’s Cocktail.”

 

Dopamine

Oxytocin

Serotonin

Endorphins

 

A healthy DOSE production means we lead a healthier, more fun and fulfilling life.

 

How do we do it?

 

How do we reduce stress hormones and increase the “feel good” hormones?

 

Dopamine is a highly addictive substance.

 

Alcohol, smoking, drugs, cell phone use and gambling all produce dopamine and make us feel good in the moment.

 

But all those are addictive and dangerous if unbalanced.

 

A balanced way of producing dopamine is:

 

Write down your goals.

 

Create a list of activities to reach those goals.

 

Tick off when you complete an activity.

 

That produces dopamine in a balanced and healthy way.

 

Oxytocin is known as the bonding hormone.

 

A 6-second handshake produces oxytocin.

 

So do acts of human generosity. It may well be why many people volunteer their time to worthy causes.

 

The resulting oxytocin release makes them feel good.

 

Physical contact and/or generosity is the oxytocin formula

 

Serotonin is some times called the happy chemical because it produces well being and happiness.

 

According to medicalnewstoday.com: “It appears to play a key role in maintaining mood balance. Low serotonin levels have been linked to depression.”

 

A healthy social life can keep serotonin levels balanced.

 

Not social media.

 

We may get hits of serotonin and become addicted to Facebook. But these hits are fleeting.

 

It takes actual, real live, real life contact with other humans. Sharing things with them. Spending time with them.

 

Endorphins are the body’s way of dealing with pain.

 

Laughter, especially and extended period of laughter, can produce these feel good hormones.

 

So can focusing on any hobby we enjoy. This can be playing a musical instrument.

Conclusions:

 

Reduce the stress hormones with meditation, laughter, smiling, deep breathing and similar techniques.

 

Increase the feel good hormones with

 

Achieving tasks

 

Having a healthy social life

 

Shaking hands and being generous

 

Laughing and challenging yourself with a hobby.

 

The brain can also be rewired over time by writing down three things you are grateful for. Do so daily.

 

These are ideas to get started with.

 

Remember to do your own research. That research can grow into a hobby that makes you feel good and empowers you.

We Need More CO2. We Don’t Have Enough. Mastery Newsletter January 14, 2020

Geologist Gregory Wrightstone is the author of:

 

Inconvenient Facts: The Science That Al Gore Doesn’t Want You to Know.


Some points he makes in a recent

interview:

 

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a miracle molecule. It is not a nasty thing we need to reduce.

 

“We don’t have too much CO2. We don’t have enough.”

 

We have 400 parts per million (PPM) currently. That is a gain of 130 PPM since the start of the industrial revolution.

 

However, when we look back we had 2,600 PPM. High CO2 levels is what allowed plants to flourish. The very plants we rely on for sustenance.

 

Since that time, we have dropped 2,000 PPM. And we are being told that an increase of 130 PPM is somehow a problem.

 

Wrightstone says CO2 is increasing and fossil fuels are contributing to it.

 

But, and it’s a big but, this is a good thing. We need more CO2. Warming is good. We don’t have too much. We are actually in a period of CO2 impoverishment. (!!!)

 

Wrightstone goes on to say the earth is greening. Air and water are getting cleaner. We are thriving and prospering.

 

We are being told that increasing temperatures are catastrophic. The opposite is true.

 

Warmer temperatures are contributing to the greening of the planet.

 

The current warming trend started in the late 17th Century after what was called the “little ice age.”

 

From 1250 to about 1850 a third of the world population perished because of this little ice age. So…not a good thing.

 

Each of the warming periods great civilizations rose up. The cold periods are what produced famines.

 

“The big untold story of the 21st Century and the late 20th Century is the greening of the earth.”

 

Two countries, India and China, have had a huge greening during the last 20 years.

 

Wrightstone says google it. Two words: “NASA and greening”

Both countries have had “…ambitious tree-planting programs that has led to more land area being covered in vengetation.”

 

Another point.

 

Fossil fuels lift people out of energy poverty.

 

There are 4 million deaths a year from lung disease from people cooking in their homes with wood an dried dung.

 

“People who are pushing green new deal and Paris Climate Accord…(will mean dooming) billions of people around the world to generational poverty.”

 

Fossil fuels provide “abundant, affordable, reliable energy and those three words are not associated with wind or solar.”

 

“Climate Change is the deliberate corruption of the scientific process.”

 

Case in point. The UN had a report that one million species will be going extinct over the next several decades.

 

Wrightstone says he looked at the same data the UN did and found that the rate of extinctions has been in decline since the late 1800s.

 

“You would have to have 25,000 to 30,000 species going extinct every year. You know what’s been the average over the last 40 years? Two. Two!”

 

“We care about the planet and we’re preserving those species. Just the opposite of what we’re told.”

 

Wrightstone’s conclusion. It’s just media spin.

 

The game is: They need to frighten the population to accept otherwise onerous and painful things like the Green New Deal and the Paris Climate Accord.

You Are Awesome. You Have Hidden Super Powers. Mastery Newsletter January 7, 2020

“Our bodies contain countless healing chemical combinations modern science can’t even conceive of.” –Dr. Habib Sadeghi writing in THE CLARITY CLEANSE

 

The good doctor continues: “These chemical combinations can be as effective as drug or surgery, and most cases more so.”

 

So, the body own chemistry can be and often is more effective than drugs or surgery!

 

When patients get well on their own, without drugs or surgery, the medical folks have a phrase for it…spontaneous healing.

 

They have no other pigeonhole to stick it in. They say it just happened.

 

Here are examples.

 

Norman Cousins was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis. A very painful form of arthritis.

 

Cousins decided to make lifestyle changes. He discovered by accident that laughing helped. So he asked a friend to provide him with comedy films.

 

He watched several episodes of a comedy called CANDID CAMERA daily.

 

The story is he laughed himself back to health. But he also made many other chances.

 

Intravenous Vitamin C was one. But his attitude was he was going to enjoy himself regardless and he was going to do anything that might help.

 

He got better and lived for many years after.

 

He used the power of his mind. He took action.

 

In his book ANATOMY OF AN ILLNESS he recalls meeting another person who suffered.

 

He visited Pablo Casals at his home arriving early in the morning.

 

Casals, the famous cellist, was racked with the pain of arthritis. And it was obvious.

 

Then Cousins witnessed what he considered a miracle. Casals began his morning ritual of practicing his cello for one hour.

 

After the hour, Casals got up and there was no indication of arthritis…none.

 

The rest of his day he was totally free of the crippling disease.

 

Dr. Bernie Siegel, author of LOVE, MEDICINE AND MIRACLES recounts the story of Arthur was given less than a year to live.

 

Dr. Siegel ran into Arthur in the grocery store five years later.

 

The good doctor asked Arthur what happened.

 

Arthur told him he had taken the advice Dr. Siegel had given him.

 

If you have only 6-12 months to live, make it the best 6-12 months of your life.

 

Arthur took that advice literally.

 

He quite the job he never liked.

 

Booked himself on the cruise he always wanted to take.

 

Took up piano, which he had always wanted to do.

 

After six months of this new life, he said he was feeling so good he didn’t have to die!

 

Five years later he was in great health and had never been sick since.

 

Are you seeing a common thread here?

 

What did Norman Cousins, Pablo Casals and Arthur have in common?

 

I’ll give you a few moments…

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Did you catch it?

 

They all decided to FEEL GOOD.

 

Cousins by laughing.

 

Casals by playing his beloved cello.

 

And Arthur by doing this he loved…things he had wanted to do all his life.

 

Is becoming healthier and even healing dis-eases possible just by feeling good?

 

Perhaps.

 

Dr. Sadeghi’s experience is that our bodies have the Super Power to create chemical compounds to heal us.

 

Feeling good may be the key to unlocking those compounds to do their magic.

 

And what is the key to feeling good?

 

Taking lessons from our three examples:

 

Taking charge of your life. Making the decision to get better, to heal.

 

Laughter in the case of Cousins.

 

Playing music in the case of Casals.

 

Doing the things we have always wanted to do, in Arthur’s case. Not to mention deciding to make the next 6-12 months the best time of your life.

 

Life leaves clues.

 

These clues may be the ones to uncover your body’s healing powers.

 

Your “Super Powers.”

 

We may start by deciding to set aside time for something we really engoy.

 

A 5-10 minute soak in a bathtub.

 

A walk in the woods.

 

Joining a laughter club.

 

Reading a book you love.

 

Coffee or tea with a friend.

 

Beginning meditation.

 

Yoga.

 

Ping Pong.

 

Things that nourish us.

 

The challenge is how to get fleeting moments of feeling good to expand. Eventually to the place where we feel good almost all the time.
