Release, release, my Tai Chi master repeated.
Slowly, slowly, it starts to resonate, what he meant.
Softness conquers hardness. Yin overcomes Yang. The female principle, the yielding, is superior to the male principle.
Both are essential. Yet we have somehow become addicted to one more than the other.
How to break that addiction? The addiction to competition, to aggression and the resulting conflict, violence and war.
How to nourish the Yin principle? How to balance the Yin and Yang so that we have the best qualities of each?
Is it not much the same as the acid/alkaline balance in the body. Many may be too acidic.
Some have realized that and gone overboard toward the alkaline. There is a condition, I am told, called alkalosis. This is where an individual’s body is too alkaline.
We tend to be extremists…one end of the spectrum or the other.
In the same way, do we not need to guard against going overboard toward the Yin?
Balance, balance, toujours balance.
